Aquaculture farm managers oversee the operation on aquaculture farms. These are specialist farms that focus on the farming of various aquatic organisms, from fish and mollusks to aquatic plants and crustaceans. Part of an aquaculture farm manager's responsibilities includes planning breeding programs, calculating feeding regimes, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and maintaining records of stocks, amongst others.

Practical experience and skills take precedence over degrees in this role. However, a bachelor's degree in aquaculture, agriculture, marine sciences, biology, fisheries management or environmental sciences will give you the competitive edge and increase your chances of getting hired by larger companies focusing on aquaculture.Experienced aquaculture farm managers are in huge demand by small and large commercial fish farms. Aquaculture farm managers are also employed by research facilities, regional water authorities, aquariums and government fish farms.
