About Admitting Interviewer

August 17th, 2017

Admitting interviewers work in the healthcare industry where they are usually the first person that patients come in contact with. When patients enter a hospital, admission interviewers get their personal details and help them with the admission process. They also help patients understand various hospital formalities and rates. The patient's personal details are entered into the computer and a separate records folder is set up for the patient.
A high school diploma is the minimum educational qualification required to become an admitting interviewer. Completing courses in word processing and business are also important. Most employers prefer to hire applicants who have had some experience volunteering in any healthcare environment or clerical experience in any field. The specific tasks that an admitting interviewer does may vary from one healthcare facility to another. Most facilities will provide a period of on the job training. Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are essential attributes in this role. Knowledge of basic administrative duties is also necessary.
At your interview for an admitting interviewer position, your prospective employer will be keen to know details about your experience or internship. They will ask you questions about your suitability to the role and if there are some things you do not like about it. Do you genuinely like helping people or will it be just a job for you? The key to winning an admitting interviewer job is to demonstrate your passion for helping sick people navigate the often complex hospital admissions process. It also helps to know about other commonly asked questions. You can find these at admitting interviewer mock interview questions.
