An accounts payable clerk receives, verifies, processes and reconciles payments in order to complete payments and control expenses. Their responsibilities include verifying vendor accounts, maintaining accounting ledges and verifying expense reports.
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is the minimum requirement for this role. Accounts payable clerks must have strong accounting, organizational, data entry and analyzing skills. Attention to detail and general math skills are also essential requirements.
