"Having been in clinical practice as a Registered Nurse for over ten years, I have always been very adaptable to rapid changes in my environments that I've worked in. Last year, staffing ratios on my unit drastically changed due to a new policy set forth by the organization. Liking to be a busy person and running all day long on my 12 hour shifts, I was a little taken aback when we were told two more nurses would be staffing each night shift. While I though my workload was just perfect at the time, I learned that changes in regulations prompted the organizational change and the new staffing model really gave our nursing group more individual time with patients.
