"A couple of years ago I made a recommendation for scheduling that would have included some split shifts. The result was less overtime and reduced expenses for the company. My overall attitude is, you win some - you lose some!"

Sometimes even great ideas just aren't feasible or accepted by everyone. The interviewer wants to hear that you are a team player and you don't let setbacks keep you from continuing to show up and perform. Share that you are able to handle criticism and that you understand that you win some and you lose some. Share that you don't take things personally, you're more focused on the team's ultimate success.
