"In corporate purchasing, being complacent can set an organization back financially for years to come if new suppliers and contracts aren't being sought and/or negotiated. Last year, I led a charge to reevaluate the raw plastic suppliers we were using in the operations of my current organization. This wasn't prompted by my leadership or CEO, it was something I felt was right to do and hadn't been done in almost ten years. In transparency, I informed our current two suppliers that we would be looking at alternate pricing from their competition. Right away, one proposed new bulk pricing.
