"A few months ago, I was on the road in another region conducting sales calls on my big accounts. This was a trip I planned quarterly and it put me on the road for 2-3 nights away from home. One day while having lunch, a customer called to let me know that one of their storage building had suffered a roof collapse and all materials in the building were damaged beyond repair. I knew where the conversation was headed and I asked the client when he needed his new shipment of product to not hold up production on their end. 48 hours was his hopeful deadline and I promised we would have shipping to him by late evening on the following day. I immediately got on the phone with our order processing staff to expedite the order and delivery. I also contacted our warehouse manager to let him know about the high priority of the situation. Because I had such a great working relationship with both, the order was sent overnight that very night and the next afternoon I received a thank you call from a very happy customer!"
