We have a unique business model in the medical device industry in that we have a clinical dialysis side to our business on top of our manufacturing and development sides. Why do you think our model is important to our success?

"Coming from a sales job in the medical device industry, at times it could be hard to connect with the nursing and tech staff that were working with the products that I sold and serviced in clinics and hospital across the region. I can see one huge advantage of working at Fresenius is the ability to engage with clinical staff like physicians, NP's, nurses and tech that are using the products on the front lines with patients and then take that knowledge to the field with external customers."

  • 3. We have a unique business model in the medical device industry in that we have a clinical dialysis side to our business on top of our manufacturing and development sides. Why do you think our model is important to our success?

      How to Answer

In your research of Fresenius Medical Care, you likely read about their different divisions that span the range of direct patient care to research and development on the product development side of things. This is a very unique model in the realm of the medical device industry and your interviewer will be looking to hear that you see the advantages of this model. Point out the fact that clinical operations and direct patient care are what the entire operation is about and having employees on that end of the business can significantly benefit the manufacturing side. And on the flip side of that equation, working on the clinical side of things with the development of new products so close has a huge advantage as well. Talk about your point of view in this business model and what the advantages are.

      Rachelle's Feedback

I have reworded it slightly for the sake of flow, and to maintain focus on the successful business model at Fresenius versus focusing on challenges from previous jobs.
"There is a huge advantage with this model, as it gives Fresenius employees the ability to engage with clinical staff, such as physicians, nurses, and technicians who are using your products in the frontlines. It's important that I can take the knowledge they gain from being on the frontlines with patients, and take that information to the field with external customers."
