Why are you leaving your current company?
This is a question that Amgen is known to ask in the interview process. Be honest in your explanation, but refrain from speaking negatively about your current employer, manager, or colleagues. Focus on what you're looking for in your next role or organization that you are missing at your current job.
"I really love my current company and the people I work with. However, the commute is getting to be too much. There's a lot of wear and tear on my vehicle, and gas prices are high, so I'm looking for something closer to home while still doing the work I'm passionate about."
"I have been passively looking at opportunities online to see what else is out there and noticed a post for Amgen. As I did more research, I found that you're listed as a best employer for new grads, diversity, and women, among several others. I'm really looking to align myself with a larger organization with more growth opportunities that also has similar values."
