How do you stay current on new programming updates and techniques?
The computer industry moves at a rapid pace. Updates occur daily, and staying on top of them is a real challenge. You should have a specific plan to keep yourself abreast of any changes in the market and be able to describe this to the interviewer.
"One of the things I pride myself on is being current on the developments occurring in the programming space. I do this by taking time out of my day to read industry publications and follow the most popular bloggers. I also attend regular seminars, user group meetings, and other industry events, and I go to national conventions at least twice a year. Additionally, I spend a lot of time with hardware and software vendors as well as my peers in the industry, discussing what is new on the market."

Because I am a student and still learning different programming languages and coding techniques, I am learning most of the current updates. However, after school, I plan to discuss new updates with peers in the industry, as well as follow popular bloggers and news media related to the industry.

It sounds like you have a great plan in place to continue staying up-to-date and well informed, even after you graduate! To make your response even stronger, I suggest adding a specific example or two of the ways that you plan to continue learning (example: what are the names of popular bloggers? Who are the key players in the industry? What websites, podcasts, or other content will it be important for you to follow?)

If there are any problems and/or concerns regarding the present versions of software, web browsers, operating systems, etc. then at least one update to fix it is what I'll gladly do.

Do you read relevant publications? Do you peruse forums or social media platforms? Do you attend conferences or take online courses?
