The best way to discuss your salary expectations is to use your current earnings as an example. Be open, and honest. Transparency is the best choice when salary based questions arise.
"Currently, I earn a base salary of 45,000 per year plus a potential 20% annual bonus. Last year my earnings were 52,000, and I would like to stay in the same range or gain a slight increase. According to my research, this seems consistent with the market."

My salary expectations are not high right now because I have a little one, and my husband is supporting me. However, when my child goes into nursery school, I will expect my salary to increase a little bit.

Stephanie's Feedback
I suggest leaving out details about your spouse and your child, as this can cause unintentional bias in the mind of an interviewer and can hurt your chance of getting a job offer. Legally, an employer cannot ask you about your marital status or your parenting status as part of the interview process. Also, don't undersell yourself by not asking for much! You have no idea what this employer's budget is, and you don't want to leave money on the table. In the "Revised Answer" section, I have included a suggestion for re-wording this response.
I have X years of experience in this industry and bring numerous skills to the role. I am currently seeking compensation that is in line with my skills and years of experience. Are you able to share what you've budgeted for this role?
(If they push you for an exact number, you can answer as below.)
"My salary expectations are flexible, but my target range is between _______and________. I am open to further discussion about this, should I progress in the interview process."
