The interviewer would like to get to know you apart from what is written on your resume. You are certainly not obligated to discuss personal matters such as your kids, or relationship status, for instance. Stick with a couple of fun facts to show the interviewer that you are a real person, too. Your answer should be unique so that you are a memorable candidate!
Focus on special non-work related skills or hobbies. For example, you might share that you enjoy beat-boxing or making origami swans. Be prepared for the interviewer to stop you and ask you to perform your skill on the spot when it's possible! (This will make you unforgettable!)

I'm a makeup artist on the side. I do makeup for people.

Kevin's Feedback
While this technically does tell them something they might not be on your resume, it doesn't offer any insights into your personality, or do much to open things up to a more personable conversation. This is an opportunity to connect with your interviewer, and make you more of an interesting person to work with. But, based on how your answer is presented, it doesn;t exhibit any passion, or enthusiasm for being a makeup artist on the side. Additionally, since Jo Malone Limited specializes in fragrances, they might wonder why you're not pursuing a career as a makeup artist. They might wonder if this is the right career for you. As it stands, your answer presents a conflict. Be sure to elaborate.
I’m also a makeup artist. I started my career as a makeup artist for the band, No Doubt, in the 1990s. I got a lot of work back then, and even knew the late famous makeup artist, Kevyn Aucoin. It was a lot of work, especially traveling with the band, and I decided back in 2002 to switch careers. So I made a natural shift to the fragrance market way back then. I still do the work in an unofficial way. Mainly just a hobby now. The work I did back then I typically leave of my resume now, as it isn’t in line with my career goals, and it always raises the question with my interviewer why I’m not pursuing that anymore. But I closed that chapter a long time ago.
