"I have always responded well to feedback on the job, and have even sought it out at times. Doing my best can seem like enough, but hearing from leaders, colleagues, and even clients is important to ensure that all needs are being met and this is a personal value that I would hold to as part of the Heathrow Airport team. I think back to six years ago in the first weeks I spent in my current role. I was going through IOSH training as part of my orientation, while also learning the day-to-day duties of the role. While I prioritized my IOSH certification during my training to ensure I would be certified quickly, my manager thought I was spending too much time preparing for that and he was sure to let me know. Knowing that it was a simple miscommunication, I let her know I'd be spending more time shadowing and training on the job moving forward. I got certified in due time without a hitch and still carry that with me today."
