"To expand my professional knowledge, I have started an online course through NYU on microeconomics. It was important to me that I take the initiative to learn more on this topic and keep my knowledge current. To grow personally, I have read a couple of books on leadership. I love to read and learn from other professionals and behavioral experts."

"I appreciate that you have asked about professional development. It's a topic that is important to me. I have committed to reading one new book per month on a topic related to organizational development, leadership, and strategy. I listed to The Growth podcast every day, on my commute, to hear business turnaround stories. I find them inspiring."

Aside from job hunting, I have spent the last few months learning as much as I can about different career paths in healthcare. I have met up with different people just to have conversations about where they are and why. Do they find it rewarding? Is this something they think I'd be interested in? I have had conversations with project managers, directors, and consultants. It's truly been eye-opening. When this job posting came my way, I was not shocked in the least at the amount of travel involved or time dedication. One of my cousins works in consulting, and she gave me the low down on what it's like to work on a consulting team. That conversation solidified my interest in this role.

It sounds like you've been primarily focused on your job search over the last few months. Consider talking about any additional research you've done into the consultancy field. Have you researched specific companies or consultancy techniques (i.e design thinking, graphic facilitation) or taken any action to sharpen the skills needed to be a consultant? If so, sharing that information illustrates that you've truly considered how you would fit into a management consultant role.
