We define logic as a proper or reasonable way of thinking about or understanding something. Those who are logical thinkers, will use formal processes when reasoning and mulling over a plan of action. The interviewer would like to know that you can exercise logic and good judgment. Your projects as a management consultant will be based primarily on logical thinking, and data analysis.

"I exercise logic every day, and my reasoning skills are strong. I do have formal processes in place when I am making a client plan, and I also use past cases to help me come to logical conclusions in tougher situations."

"Logical thinking is all about putting the pieces together. I do a lot of IQ and mental exercises in my spare time. The activities seem fun, but they are also helping me to define my logic and reasoning skills. I have trained myself to think in conditional statements so that my brain automatically searches for the logic in any situation."

I assess the situation by breaking it down into components including identifying the issue or challenge, what needs to change and producing potential solutions. I also use my past experiences to help come to a logical solution when presented with a project or with anything in general.

This is an average, general response on how you perceive logic, and how you might theoretically apply logic in any given situation. But it doesn't convey a systematic approach or strategy, and your response doesn't feel organized or applicatable in any way. Try and organize and elaborate on your response in a way that reflects skill and expertise.
Well, before anything, I would gather information. An uninformed course of action would be reflexive and might undermine one’s own efforts. I have no interest in rework or failure. So I’d gather information, break down all the components, categorizing according to priority. I’d then assess all the tools I have at my disposal, as well as the time constraints at play. Once I’d have the big picture of what needs to be accomplished, the best approach should present itself, along with the challenges standing in my way. I’d chart the best course I could with the resources at my disposal, taking everything I could into consideration. Where appropriate, I would respect the chain of command, and include everyone who should be included in the decision tree.
