As an Optometrist, it is important to have excellent decision-making skills. You are involved in decisions either independently or in shared care that will have important consequences for your patient's medical care. It is essential that you feel comfortable making decisions that will impact your patient's quality of life.
"I believe I have excellent decision-making skills. It is important for me to develop a plan and communicate with my patient what I believe to be the best treatment for them. It is equally important for the patient to decide what is best for them. I have had to make split-second decisions in emergencies, and the outcome has always been a success.
