"The first word I would choose to describe myself is outgoing. I get a lot of energy out of interacting with others and meeting new people, and I love opportunities to collaborate. The second word would be empathetic. I am very connected to the people around me and enjoy celebrating their successes and supporting them in overcoming obstacles. Finally, the third word I'd choose to describe myself would be driven. Whether it's running a race, building new furniture, or advancing my career, I strive to do my best and get the job done."

The first word that I would choose is passionate. I am passionate about mathematics and work hard to help my students learn to appreciate math and all of the beauty and coolness in math, from the nice ways different math concepts work together to the ways that math relates to the real world, other subjects, and nature. The second word I would use to describe myself is caring. I want to see all of my students succeed not only in school but in life and I am there to help them celebrate their successes and also to support them when they are going through something difficult. Finally, I would describe myself as flexible. Things do not always go as planned and I am able to adapt to the needs of my classroom and change my plans on the fly or help cover a colleague's class when necessary.
