At Vibra Healthcare, our number one priority is the experience and satisfaction of our patients and we achieve this in part due to the education we provide to our patients. Give an example of a time you provided education to a patient with great results?

"My career as a Dietitian in a hospital setting has really revolved around patient education because, let's face it, eating habit are hard to break and the only way to really drive home the effort to change eating habits is through education. In my current job a few years back, I was working with a morbidly obese patient with heart and respiratory problems and diet das a primary cause as diagnosed by his physician. After meeting with the patient, his diet consisted of processes foods and fast food almost 100% of the time and this had been the effect of many years of living this lifestyle. In this patient's case, education had to start with how to cook and prepare healthy meals along with the normal education of what processed food does to the human body. By being really the first person to ever teach him how to cook healthy meals at home, progress was made within just mere weeks by him dropping double digit pounds per week for the first two months. In his case, learning the how and the why together were important to his success."

      2nd Answer Example

"A couple of years ago, I was working with a Hispanic patient that spoke very little English and her spouse had no literacy in it either. The patient had suffered a stroke and we were taking measures for her discharge to ensure that her home life was conducive to her recovery. Knowing that her spouse would be an integral part of this, we used our interpreter service to come on-site for two separate meetings. Knowing that language would be a barrier, I took time to gather some educational materials that included both visual aids and translated wording into Spanish. Both the patient and spouse were extremely thankful for our effort in detail to ensure her rehabilitation at home went smoothly."
