You must disclose if you have a criminal record or believe you will not pass the drug test. Assure the interviewer that you are able and willing to pass a complete background check and drug test and have nothing to inform them about.

But I want to be up-front, I have done a full background check before, and there is a possibility you will see a charge for possession of marijuana in the check. It was several years ago, and it's no longer an issue for me because I've made significant changes in my life to pursue this career. But I don't want you to be surprised by the information. I'm happy to answer any questions you have and can assure you my drug test will be clean as I stopped using marijuana and do not use any other drugs."
