What You Need to Know
HireVue offers companies their On-Demand interviews as a prescreening recruiting service. One of its key benefits is allowing you to take the interview on your own time according to your schedule. As you deliver your interview, its algorithm records and analyzes your performance. It then compiles a report assessing your performance before handing over the recorded interview and report to GSK's hiring authority. Anytime you are asked this question in an interview, it serves a few purposes. Your interviewer wants to get to know the real you, which will help them determine whether you will complement the other members of their team, their culture, and their brand identity. Familiarize yourself with the expectations of the company and the job you are applying for. Use the job description to guide you on the areas you should emphasize." This advice could apply to this question as well. If you are expected to travel, it will probably detail that in your job description. But be prepared to answer with confidence, whether it is in the job description or not.

Tips
HireVue's algorithms will record and analyze your interview performance. It may evaluate your facial expressions, eye movements, body movements, clothing details, and vocal inflections. It will likewise examine the consistency between your answers and your level of honesty to determine your experience level and to predict your future job performance. That information, with the recorded interviews, is passed on to the company's hiring authority for further study.
Once a question is posed, you'll be allowed roughly 20-30 seconds per question to formulate your response. Once it starts recording, you'll have up to three minutes to answer. There are no retakes. You get only one opportunity to record your answers. Some questions may take longer to answer than others, but only take as much time as you need. Don't try to run out the clock or allow it to cut you off. Be as succinct as possible.

They design each assessment model with purpose, "built for a specific job role after following these critical steps: Ensure that there is a clear performance indicator for the job role that differentiates the strongest from the least promising performers. Ask the right questions to elicit responses that can be measured and that are pertinent to predicting job performance based on IO psychology research. Tips
An in-person interview is typically held in a controlled environment. Yet, when you conduct a video interview, it is up to you to find a controlled environment that is exemplary of your professionalism. GSK suggests that "if you have family members or pets at home, let the interviewer know there might be some background noise. Use headphones to make the call if possible. Use a stand or books to prop your laptop on so it's at the right level for video calls. Minimize background noise by closing all windows and doors."
Similarly, HireVue offers on their website: "Just relax. If your dog barks or your kid runs across the screen-relax. It's okay. Your employer will understand, and if they don't, perhaps it's not the right culture fit for you. And that's okay. This is your time to showcase who you are and what you can add to an organization. Prepare, take a deep breath, and be yourself."
This is good advice. You'll want to be in a relatively quiet place with as little background noise as possible. The reason you want your camera angle to be at eye level is when it is positioned too low, it may make you seem domineering. Positioned too high, and it will make it seem as if they are looking down at you, making you seem weak or small. So center it, and make sure your lighting is equally balanced as well. Maintain eye contact in front of the camera as if you're speaking face-to-face with a person. Be mindful of your facial expressions. Furrowing your brow while concentrating on how to answer a question can easily be misinterpreted as exhibiting anger, which would raise a red flag.

Hiring teams can be instantly calibrated with provided job-related attributes and behavior examples validated by IO psychologists." They aim to provide "consistency to the interview process. Each candidate is asked the same questions and is reviewed using the same criteria. This, in turn, allows HireVue's customers to quickly hire better quality, more diverse applicants to fill their roles." This includes how consistent your non-verbal cues are with what you say and whether you unintentionally contradict yourself from answer to answer or from what you've detailed on your resume. This will also inform them of your attention to detail and the consistency they can expect from your work performance.
