Everyone has weaknesses. What you choose to do with that weakness is another story. The interviewer wants to hear that you have identified a work-related weakness and you are taking measures to turn that weakness into a strength. You do not need to spend a lot of time elaborating on the weakness. Just identify your weakness and the steps you are taking to improve.

"My greatest weakness is public speaking. I have no problem talking to my patients and their family members and am an excellent communicator. But when I have to do a lecture or presentation in front of a crowd, I freeze up. I know that is a problem I need to address, and I have joined an organization called Toastmasters. They are a nonprofit organization designed to improve public speaking and leadership skills. We meet once a week for an hour and practice giving speeches and taking on leadership roles. I already feel more confident in the two months that I have been a member."
