Describe a difficult clinical experience. How did you handle it?

"While working in a Medical/Surgical Unit, a nurse I was working with gave a patient an incorrect dose of insulin, and the patient reacted extremely negatively and was at risk of slipping into a diabetic coma. I quickly pulled all of the emergency medications and brought their blood sugar back up to a stable level until the patient could be transferred to the ICU. The doctor came later to thank me for starting those interventions because it saved the patient's life."

      The best way to answer this question is to use the STAR method. Demonstrate to the interviewer that you can keep calm and rationally respond to a challenging situation. It is good to bring up the technical skills you used and the soft skills needed to handle the situation.
