"During a recent downturn in our industry, the IT department's budget was frozen, and we were asked to do more with the same resources. After a quick analysis, I realized that there was additional capacity on most of our systems. I put together a task force to determine what additional functionality we could add to the systems without impacting current processes. We developed a set of recommendations that would enable the company to add both people and processes to the organization without expanding the IT infrastructure.
