22. When have you had a dispute with a co-worker? What was the disagreement, and how did you two resolve the issue?
How to Answer
From time to time, you will come across a co-worker that you do not see eye to eye. Give the hiring manager a situation that was not too serious as you want to avoid negativity in the workplace. We can't avoid conflicts in the workplace; therefore, it helps to take a proactive approach rather than try to escape conflict, so craft your answer to show that you take accountability and help to resolve conflict with others.

Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
Hiring managers ask this question to see how you approach challenges at work and how you deal with conflict. The reason you might be asked this question is to determine whether you are a team player, flexible, and influential. When crafting your response, you want to avoid the two extremes - avoiding conflict and loving it.

Answer Example
"Last week, I disagreed with an engineer on my team over a particular aspect of one of our designs. We had a meeting with our manager to help resolve the concern surrounding how to proceed. It was all very civil, and we simply needed another set of eyes on the issue."
