There is an expression that says, 'message sent is the message received.' When delegating, just because you feel you passed the information on what to do, doesn't mean you've successfully relayed how to do the job right, why the job is being done, or the stakes involved. When offering your example, be sure to bookend it with how you observed the situation, what you learned from the experience, and how your communication improved.
This question focuses on your communication skills, so ensure your answers are consistent. How you communicate your answer is just as relevant as your example. The next day, I approached the manager and requested that future communication of that nature be conducted in person rather than by text message. I did apologize for my initial defensive reaction."
