"I believe that the Safaricom Limited purpose and culture are organically motivating. When you know that the work you do is ultimately designed to change people's lives for the better - giving them access to their community, education and health care resources like never before - that seems like a very powerful motivator. I believe that I am also highly intrinsically motivated. However, I am often encouraged by verbal recognition of my impact, along with compensation-based rewards. Being a leader comes naturally to me, so I don't find it an onerous task. My competitive side keeps me motivated as well."
