LinkedIn celebrates diversity. In which ways do you honor those different from you?

Diversity and inclusion are celebrated topics at LinkedIn, and the interviewer would like to know that you share this mindset. LinkedIn's three primary points when it comes to diversity and inclusion include:

- Encouraging authenticity. LinkedIn employees are inspired to transform themselves, their company and the world. LinkedIn believes that when the company empowers their employees, great things happen. They also have employee resource groups, including Black Inclusion Group (BIG), EnableIn for those with disabilities, Hispanics of LinkedIn Alliance (HOLA), LinkedIn Engagement and Development Program (LEAD) to attract top talent in the African American and Latino communities, Out@In, Veterans, Women at LinkedIn (W@LI), Women's Initiative (WiN), and Women in Tech (WIT).

- Investing in talent. LinkedIn sponsors effective leadership programs focused on developing the next generation of leadership talent among women and under-represented groups.

- Thinking differently about hiring. LinkedIn has Accelerate U, a program meant to reach a much broader range of smart, capable students who have the potential to thrive at LinkedIn. They also have REACH, which brings software engineers from non-traditional tech backgrounds to apprentice at LinkedIn for six months. The first REACH group included an Army veteran, a professional poker player, a recruiter, a nonprofit founder, a dietician, a teacher, and a call center account manager. LinkedIn also hosts Open Mic nights, a networking or recruiting event.
