You don't have to be a manager or a team leader to motivate others. Offering a listening ear or providing words of encouragement can make a world of difference to your coworkers. Sometimes, just being a positive influence and showing up consistently can also make a difference.
If you have worked in a leadership role, think of ways you helped set clear goals or helped individuals cultivate a new skill. Reflect on your experience and share some ways that you have helped encourage others to keep up the good work!

Good answer! However, motivating team members isn't always a linear process. Consider talking about how you foster collaboration within a team, encourage others, handle failure in a positive manner, and set clear, achievable goals. In addition, an applicable workplace example is often the best way to showcase your motivational skills. If possible, relate a time when you were able to help motivate your team to overcome an obstacle, resolve a problem, or achieve a goal. Make sure to share the positive outcome to leave the interviewer with a positive picture of your ability to work as part of a team.
