Show the interviewer that you work well with most personalities even though you recognize there are some folks out there who are quite difficult to please.
Think about that one person at work who is seen as hard to please. Perhaps there is someone at work who tries to intimidate others. Talk to the interviewer about what made this person challenging and what their relationship was to you. Avoid speaking poorly of anyone and be sure to end your response on a positive note.

"I once worked at a locally owned shop where the owner was very demanding. When the owner would walk into the store, employees would announce over their headset system that the owner was in the building, so that everyone felt prepared for his entrance into their department. The owner had great intentions; however, his people skills were a little rough. I could see that he meant well, and I recognized that he wanted to do a lot of good things. When we interacted, I always took his feedback with the understanding that he didn't mean things as harshly as they came out."

I had one person I worked with (actually supervised) and she was always mad when I left a post-it note on her computer for work I needed from her. I discovered that she felt I did not like her and did not want to talk to her is why I left notes. I explained that I came to work earlier than her and I would go through my list for the day and wanted to get these items before my day got hectic and I really did think she was an awesome person. So I made a point not to leave so many notes and stop and ask for what I needed.
Marcie's Feedback
Good example! You've done a great job of providing details about a time when you had to interact with someone who was challenging at work. How did you discover that she thought you didn't like her? Did you initiate a meeting or discussion with her to find out what was wrong? The interviewer will appreciate that after discovering what the issue was you changed the way you were handling the situation (by trying to make requests verbally instead of with post-its). Great job!
