The area that interests me most in optometry is vision therapy. I find it fascinating that optometrists are able to fix a patient's low vision problems by using various eye exercises. Not only does this improve the patient's vision and overall eye health, but it also allows the patient to perform daily tasks like reading and writing, without the use of invasive procedures.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice! Your response directly answers the interviewer's question and clearly explains why you like this area of optometry. Have you taken any classes on this subject that you can mention or done any personal research? How did you come to learn about it? Also, do you plan to focus on this area as you progress in your career? Adding some more details will make your answer even more meaningful and memorable to the interviewer. Great job! (PS - My daughter underwent vision therapy for several months to fix the issue of double vision and it worked! It is a really neat area of optometry, I agree! :)

I am most interested in Behavioural Optometry. With the advancement of everyday technologies, the demand we are putting on our eyes is always increasing due to their excessive exposure to electronically produced information. I plan to educate my patients on proactive measures they can take to protect their vision and keep their eyes healthy.
Marcie's Feedback
Interesting! This is definitely a fascinating area of optometry. Can you talk more about why behavioral optometry interests you so much? Can you give a few examples of the ways technology affects our eyes and what some of the measures are to combat this? Good job!
