      Answer Example

"In the beginning of my career with ABC Company, I actually ended up dismantling the incorrect piece of equipment. This caused a major delay in shipping the correct piece of equipment. "When I first started at ______ on my Co-op through school one of the production workers pulled the airlines out of a pneumatic valve, I traced them back to the components they went to and ended up getting two airlines mixed up at the valve so none of the air cylinders were working properly. I ended up looking at the schematic again and double-checked every air line and that's when I realized that I had two mixed up. I switched them back and only had an extra 1/2 hour of downtime."

      Chad's Feedback

You make good use of the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) framework to organize your response, and the story-based example you chose clearly demonstrates your ability to problem-solve, and results in minimal company downtime. Nice job! Consider adjusting the wording on the opening sentence, however, so that it does not come off as if you are trying to blame a co-worker for the initial error. For example: "During my school co-op placement at ______, I discovered both of the air lines had been pulled out of a pneumatic valve."
