Question 3 of 30

What is your greatest strength and greatest weakness?

"My greatest strength is how skilled I am with people. I have well above average interpersonal skills. It is definitely a benefit when it comes to dealing with my clients. But this can be my greatest weakness at the same time. I am very social and very polite, but it gets those around me excited and I find it hard to break away. Not that I keep the conversation going, but I struggle with not wanting to be rude or discourteous and have trouble cutting people off or breaking away. I have greatly improved my skills and my exit strategy, but I am also sometimes just too nice, so I've been told."

Why the Interviewer Asks This Question

HireVue assesses data points in the recorded videos to identify the top performers most suited to the company's goals and culture. They'll pass that information onto the company's hiring authority, depending on what HireVue package they've signed up for. Some request only the recorded videos and no assessment reports. Some request the report as well, while others request screening, and only receive those which pass the algorithm's evaluations as potential top performers. Once the hiring authority receives the materials, they can view the interviews side by side for further comparison and evaluation.

"My greatest strength is my passion for sharing my knowledge and experience to help others succeed. This has also been one of my downfalls in the past when I have taken on too much. I have learned how to evaluate my capacity to take on more and when I need to say no to avoid burnout. I have found that I am at my best performance when I balance helping others with my day-to-day role."

      Marcie's Feedback

Nice! It's great that you enjoy sharing your knowledge with others and helping them succeed. Can you talk about a specific time when you did this and how it made you feel? The more details you can include, the better! Great job.
