When working through stressful experiences, I have to take a step back, take a deep breath, and move forward. It is never good to power through in a power struggle between a teacher and a student. I should always be the calm one.

If things do continue to escalate with the student, grab another teacher, have the student step out of the room, or find another way to diffuse the situation as quickly as possible. This will be very positive in the long run.
