These days, to meet budgets and time constraints, training comes in a variety of formats. Companies are still relying on classroom or seminar style training, but online learning formats are becoming more common so employees can learn at a time that is most convenient for them. If you are more comfortable with online training, be sure to point out the positives of it while emphasizing that you appreciate the need for face-to-face communications. There is some criticism that online training isolates employees and prevents them from sharing their views and learning from one another.

"I prefer to receive online training because it allows me to learn at a time that is convenient for me. It also allows me to complete the training at my own pace to ensure that I understand the concepts presented. If there is a particular concept I do not understand well, I can pause the learning module to investigate it further using other resources. However, I think it is important to regularly gather with others in the company to share our knowledge and learn from one another."

"I believe I can learn more in a classroom setting. Listening to an instructor in a live setting keeps me more engaged, and there are more learning opportunities as others in the classroom provide insights and opinions. It is important for the instructor or facilitator to keep the participants engaged through visual aids and lively discussion. Although attending a training session in a classroom may be less convenient than an online module, with proper planning, I do not believe it is too disruptive to my schedule."
