It is essential to show the interviewer that you are a team player. Talk about a time that you were recently expected to achieve a goal in a team setting. How did you go above and beyond to ensure that your contribution was felt?

"Last month our company asked upper management to complete a full inventory audit. There were 4 of us in total and so we broke the audit requirements into shifts. These shifts had to take place when the warehouse was closed. In the end, there was one additional shift that nobody wanted to take. I volunteered myself to do that shift to show my dedication to my job and my co-workers. The gesture was appreciated, and the audit was completed on time."

"My biggest contribution to my last team came in the form of leadership. I am a natural leader and can foster strong communication with my team which directly impacted the overall results."

A few pieces of equipment broke when doing hardware testing. The engineer who had been performing the test offsite had been away from his recent bride for a few weeks at that point and if the retest didn't start that day with the new equipment, he would be there over the weekend as well. I volunteered to bring the new equipment to the test site and the engineer was able to go home and we stayed on schedule.

While working towards my ASCP eligibility at Pathgroup as a Lead Clinical Laboratory Assistant, I helped build an entire sample tracking system in Microsoft Excel. We made it in response to the large increase of covid samples during the pandemic, to help keep track of how many samples we received each shift.

Stephanie's Feedback
It sounds like you were able to make a very meaningful contribution! What was the outcome of the tracking system you built? (In other words, what happened as a result of this new system? How did this improve outcomes for your employer?) A closing sentence about the impact of your contributions will help to round out your response very nicely.
