"It is a challenge to stay up to date on the transportation industry, with policy changing on a regular basis. The most reliable source that I utilize is 'Transport Topics.' With that said, I love to learn about new resources. Would you mind sharing with me your favorite source of transportation-related news?"

I don't currently have any specific places I go to to stay up to date with transportation policy. My current employer sends us the policy changes in the industry when they occur and when they will affect us most. I would love more resources, however.

With this question, the interviewer is trying to determine how committed you are to the transportation industry. You can consider following industry-leading companies or others on LinkedIn that can help you stay informed about industry changes or advancements. You can also talk about any industry-related associations you're a part of or that you read online that help you stay aware of changes. If none of those options apply, you can explain how your employer helps you stay up to date, how often those employer updates occur, and something important you've learned recently that impacted the way you work. This shows the interviewer that you are able to adapt to the industry and work smarter as the situation evolves.
