View Answer
How to Answer
AI automation is one of the biggest trends in financial/accounting processes. Today, it's estimated that anywhere from 50-90 % of financial processes can be automated with software solutions. However, there are significant gaps between systems and activities such as keying and re-keying information and connecting with supplier portals. RPA is an intelligent digital workforce that can automate these manual tasks such as copying and pasting and data input.

There are many different areas where RPA could be applied and deliver value - focus on areas where RPA could be used to better sync up systems.

Jen's Answer
"I think the RPA is so critical in increasing the value of your software - by filling in the gaps that arise when using your and other systems, you significantly enhance the experience of using your software. RPA could be a great differentiator. For instance, while there are so many programs that enable e-invoicing but supplier onboarding is still a manual process - if there could be a way to create supplier profiles with all the necessary data such as credit scores, tax data, rates, etc. and also compare these new suppliers more efficiently, this would be tremendously helpful for many companies. Offering this type of RPA features, I believe, is the next s milestone for accounting software programs."

My experience and education have helped me complete many complex development projects on time and within budget."
Jen's Answer #2
"Though my current employer required extensive development experience, they do not require any certifications. On my own time and at my own expense I enrolled in several certification programs. I am now MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) and MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) certified. The additional training and certifications have helped me in my current role and my employer appreciated my initiative and dedication."

"I certainly do not regret the direction I have taken my career; however, if I had to start over in a new direction completely I would likely pursue my Degree in Education and become a teacher. Working at Avankia, you will experience changes on a regular basis. When have you had to change a major component of your project due to new information being presented?
Being able to swivel the focus of your project is a necessary skill for your success in most careers. Talk to the interviewer about a time when a significant change occurred on a project. How did you handle the implementation of the new information?

Jen's Answer #1
"I had a large project last month that was nearly complete when the client called to say that the dimensions provided were incorrect. Because of this, our team had to re-do the entire proposal. It took us an additional four days of work but, in the end, the client was delighted with our work, and it resulted in new opportunities with them."
Jen's Answer #2
"I would say that being in the software and technology business means changing major components on projects on a very regular basis. I am very well accustomed to changing gears on a moment's notice and can adapt very well." (Give a recent example, if you are able) "

Discuss a couple of software sales techniques. Which sales technique do you think is most effective for Avankia, and why?
The interviewer would like to see that you have researched Avankia, putting some thought into the most significant selling features of their products and services. When it comes to software sales closing techniques, you could:

- Offer a short trial for free
- Have a great email marketing campaign showing off the features of your software
- Give product or software demos, but keep the short
- Sell pre-paid annual memberships

Perhaps you have some ideas of your own! Discuss which selling options you think would be the best fit for what Avankia is offering. Be ready to support your answer with facts.

Jen's Answer #1
"I recently read that free trial offers can increase conversions by up to 25% and, because, Avankia has a straightforward product, I believe it would be very effective to allow people to try it for free for 14 days. The prospective customer would quickly see that it's simple to navigate and incredibly helpful."
Jen's Answer #2
"Since there are so many customizable features that come with your product, I feel that the best sales technique would be a free 30-minute demo, followed up with a short trial period. I think it would be important for prospective customers to see the product in action, and how it would work for them, specifically."
8.
We at Avankia strive to be long-term development partners with our clients. Please tell me what long-term partnership means to you in terms of accounting software development and building client relationships?

"I am an experienced developer and also understand the value of building client relationships.
