If you are interviewing for an internal Talent Agent role with United Talent Agency: UTA has an incredibly robust training program for their agents which includes beginning in the mailroom at minimum wage! From there, trainees move into all departments as assistants to agents across all divisions. Talent agent trainees learn the fundamentals of agency work. Those who show promise gain promotion to full-time assistant roles. As a full-time assistant, trainees work to support an agent through administrative tasks and client service. Once the multi-year program is complete, the trainee has an opportunity for promotion to Talent Agent; however, there is no guarantee of a promotion.
