Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
Some people may have biases against a particular group based on their religion, skin color, ethnic background, or other cultural customs. There is no tolerance for those individuals in healthcare. Assure the interviewer that you can handle an environment that offers diversity. Even better, give an example of being able to embrace diversity in the workplace. The interviewer wants to see if you are accustomed to working with various people and will fit in with Healthscope's company culture.

"I am so glad you pointed out your need for diversity at Healthscope. I greatly value diversity. I grew up on a farm and was homeschooled, so I was not exposed to much diversity. However, I wanted to learn more about other cultures and how people around the world lived. I joined the Peace Corps for two years and traveled to several countries. I was immersed in small villages in South America and Asia and learned their languages and how they lived. That experience made me appreciate that we are all the same people, just with different languages and customs. I will fit in well at Healthscope if fortunate enough to be offered the position."
