How to Answer
The interviewer wants to understand your ambitions and desired trajectory better. Respond with the ways that you would like to see your career flourish. If you aren't interested in eventually pursuing a management role, speak to how you want to grow and expand other skill sets or continue your education. If you have researched a specific career path or are interested in a particular leadership role, express that area of interest in your response.
If you are a recent college graduate or starting a new career, you may or may not know where you'd like to be in five years. Wells Fargo wants to see that you think about the future and that you are actively working toward your goals. Better yet, they want to know how working for them will help you accomplish your goals! Share how this job will help you get closer to achieving your goals.

"Since I'm just getting into my banking career, there are several possibilities I have in mind for the future. I would like to go to school to obtain my bachelor's in a banking-related field. I would also like to explore more loan officer-type positions, as I feel like that is something I would be interested in down the road. Right now, I want to focus on learning and growing my foundational skills, then explore more areas of interest in a few years."
