"I feel that competition is the biggest contributor to customer attrition. Banks are competing intensely for new customers, so you see banks offering incentives to open new accounts, and they are often launching new products and services as well as improved mobile banking technology. It's important to stay on top of current trends and to provide excellent customer service to combat the threat of competitors."

All financial institutions are faced with the challenge of retaining customers, and Wells Fargo is no exception. Contributors to customer attrition include competition, convenience, poor customer service, limited product offerings, poor quality or lack of digital technology and tools, etc. Discuss what you personally feel the challenge is in your geographic area and as a whole within banking. If you do not have experience in banking in particular, speak to your opinion on customer retention in general (think retail, healthcare, etc.) or what you anticipate those challenges to be at Wells Fargo.

"I believe that the biggest contributor to customer attrition in banking is poor customer service. In my experience, customers want to feel valued, they want the ease of access to their accounts and customer service, and they want to know their financial institution provides security. It's important that my team and I appreciate our customers and maintain our relationships with them. We must also be available when they have questions or concerns, as no customer wants to call a generic 1-800 number and be on hold for hours. Lastly, we need to demonstrate that we can protect their personal information both at the branch and electronically"
