"I have found it to be a best practice that when a customer hands me cash, I always leave it on the counter or set it on top of my drawer while I finish the transaction or count their change. In my past job at Walmart, I had a customer hand me a 50 bill, and I put it down in my drawer, then counted back their change. The customer then said they had given me a 100 bill, and because I had already put it in the drawer, there was no way to prove the situation quickly. I had to get a manager, and we had to balance the drawer to resolve the situation, which took a lot of time. I would follow this same practice with Wells Fargo and would incorporate any other precautions I was taught as well."
