"I have had to terminate employees in the past and while it's not a pleasant experience, it is a part of the job. Most recently, I had a teller that was making careless mistakes and causing a lot of problems for customers. I followed our HR policy for the disciplinary process which included coaching, a verbal warning, write-ups, and finally his termination. I really felt like I did everything possible to support this employee and give them the tools to succeed, but they did not meet expectations and I had to terminate them for the good of the business."
