"Yes. I am a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and I use the principles of Lean on a daily basis in my current role. The five principles are value, value stream, flow, pull, and perfection.
Specific industries such as software development have modified the language of the principles with items such as the elimination of waste, and optimization of the whole. In my opinion, these principles all tie back to the original 5 in some way, but they provide clear language that is easier for teams to understand.
I have found success with the use of a mix of both approaches. The critical piece is ensuring my team members understand what we are aiming for conceptually so that they can apply it correctly within their own areas of expertise."
