"I have worked directly with engineers for a little over 15 years. I began working as an analyst in cross-functional teams developing web-based business information systems solutions. My teams consisted of a project manager, other analysts, several engineers, a technical lead, and QA analysts. We also partnered with database administrators, architects, change managers, and support leads. I collaborated with engineers on a daily basis to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support technology solutions.

I then went into project management and worked with similarly structured cross-functional teams. I have managed projects with engineers on staff for the last 4 years. I am comfortable discussing highly technical concepts with my teams. While I do not engineer the solutions myself, I feel it is critical to understand the concepts so that I can properly assess cost, timeline, process issues, and improvement opportunities. We have used AWS for several years, and I feel confident I would be able to jump in and communicate effectively with the Amazon Data Services engineers."
