Our IT Services group supports Amazon’s offices globally. Please describe the largest global initiative you have led.

Remember to provide information regarding the regions the stakeholders or customers were located, the number of stakeholders or users of the solution you implemented affected, and any budgetary information you can share. An interviewer is likely to ask follow-up questions about this information if it is omitted from your response. Including it initially demonstrates your understanding of the importance and purpose of the question.

"I currently work within the PMO of the second largest law firm in the world. We have 54 offices in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa and over 3500 employees. I work on enterprise software implementation and support projects, and every project I work on affects multiple offices.

The largest project I managed involved the selection and implementation of a new secure file transfer solution. I led a cross-functional team of analysts, engineers, technical leads and architects. I am unable to provide the budgetary information for the project as I am currently under an NDA.

We met with our regional IT experts to better understand the data privacy laws in each area prior to gathering the requirements for the solution. Then, we held a planning session to drive out the requirements and identify potential vendors.

Once we selected a vendor, I worked with their implementation manager to merge our teams and roll out the solution to all of our offices. We partnered with our data services teams as well. The project went smoothly and my team did an excellent job of addressing the unique needs of each region and local office as we went. I enjoy working with global teams and I am excited about the possibility for working with the IT Services team to support the employees and customers of Amazon globally."
