Trust goes beyond doing the right thing or being true to your word. It also boils down to being capable and being reliable. Your coworkers needs to trust that you'll be able to do you job, keep up, and back them up when needed So, your interviewer is curious about your approach to earning and sustaining the trust of your new co-workers, and whether you place the same value on such things as they do: "It's about how you make people feel. Trust. The crew on your flight might never have met each other before they report for duty. It's vital they can trust each other to do the right thing should anything untoward happen. A big part of this is confidence in our training and procedures, but it's also about those first few minutes together."

"I feel that the best way to earn the trust of my co-workers is to be myself, to be honest and transparent with who I am, and to give my all. I'm loving, helpful, always do what I promise, and be honest with them at all times. Strong relationships have to be built on these principles."

I feel the best ways to gain trust are by being loyal to your company and fellow coworkers and by being honest and by going above what’s expected.
Marcie's Feedback
Being loyal, honest, and going above and beyond are all great ways to earn the trust of your coworkers. Are you loyal, honest, and willing to go above and beyond? Make sure you emphasize that you possess these qualities and include an example or two to prove it. Discuss a time when you earned the trust of a coworker, classmate, or friend. Finally, you might also mention that you honor your commitments, admit when you're wrong, and strive to be helpful and caring. Nice job!

Being open and honest with colleagues is the way forward. And not rushing things. I’ve found that my natural state of being a good listener, asking for advice, and wanting to learn from my more experienced colleagues has led them to trust me.
