"Flight attendant, steward, air crew or cabin crew. Whatever name you use, when you're part of the Virgin Atlantic team, you'll be shaping the future of long-haul travel, creating exciting alternatives to the norm at 37,000 feet. There are challenging days, it's never 9-5, but when you add your own dash of flair, to make a customer's flight, there's no feeling like it." For the safety of the passengers, it is integral members of the crew can be identified quickly. However, company uniform policies often contribute to job dissatisfaction, lower performance metrics, and attrition. This is especially common when the employee doesn't find the uniform attractive, comfortable, or grows bored with its conformity. Therefore, most airlines have put concerted efforts into redesigning their uniforms for greater comfort with a wider variety of options. Owned by Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic has a particular workplace culture, and they are seeking people who will fit into that culture very well. On the Virgin Atlantic website, there is a quote from Sir Richard Branson which says, "I'm often asked what it is that makes Virgin different. The simple answer is - our people. If it weren't for a bunch of well trained, motivated and, above all, happy people doing their bit, we'd have never launched a record label, never mind a fleet of 747s."
Personality and character are two very different things. The interviewer is looking for more information on your traits vs. your integrity. This answer could include buzzwords such as extroverted, energetic, and confident.

Therefore, communication needs to be clear at all times. So Virgin offers all of their flying staff "human factors training, which is a unique form of training all about teamwork and communication."
