This question evaluates your approach to taking risks. How you answer will reveal whether you are a habitual risk taker, proving yourself a liability, or a calculated risk taker, proving yourself an asset. One BAE Systems employee was quoted as saying, "The leadership team actively encourages me to take calculated risks and to think outside of the box." So perform adequate research on their company to get a bigger picture of their approach to risk-taking. Doing so will assist you in aligning yourself with their culture and better communicating how your values and approach would complement theirs.

The assessment model will evaluate your level of honesty based on the consistency between your non-verbal cues and what you're communicating verbally, including your confidence in your statements, the consistency of your answers from one question to the next, and whether you unintentionally contradict yourself from answer to answer or from your resume.
A candidate's tone, facial expressions, body language, and mannerisms will be interpreted as their true feelings, intentions, and attitudes. When these are incongruent with your words and statements, it is commonly considered an indication of limited emotional intelligence or burnout syndrome. An inconsistent narrative also indicates a lack of attention to detail and a lack of self-awareness and thereby suggests the type of consistency they can expect from your work performance. So you want to ensure your answers are consistent throughout your interview and your interview performance.

"I would consider myself a calculated risk take when necessary. For example, if a high-pressure situation unfolds, and I don't have all the information to be fully prepared to proceed, I will gather what information I have, tap into every resource available to me, and react accordingly. However, I should clarify that I rarely suffer from task procrastination or task paralysis. I think quickly on my feet and act fast."

I would consider myself a calculated risk-taker. I do not believe in taking rash decisions and risks without going through all the information I have at hand. There have been a few cases at work where I have had to take calculated risks with the advice I was providing as I did not have all the information and had to exercise my professional judgment. In those moments, providing a definite answer was more appropriate than taking time to further delve into the details.
