What causes you to feel dissatisfied on the job?
The interviewer wants to discover more about what makes you feel valued and content in the workplace and what factors might make you feel dissatisfied. Consider factors like engagement, recognition and rewards, work-life balance, compensation, and motivation. When answering this question, be concise and maintain a positive tone.
"I prefer a work environment where feedback is provided regularly. I like to know how I'm doing and if I'm meeting expectations, and I appreciate constructive feedback if there are areas I could improve. I can feel dissatisfied if I'm not receiving that feedback from my manager more often than in a yearly performance review. I avoid this by being open and honest with my manager and communicating my needs openly."
"Teamwork and engagement are important to me. I do best in an environment where there is a lot of collaboration and interaction among the team, especially when working remotely. If I feel isolated or like I don't have a lot of communication or interactions with my team and manager, I tend to feel dissatisfied."

Your answer is very positive (as opposed to negative), which reflects well on you. Rather than dwelling on what makes you dissatisfied, you discuss what you prefer in a work environment. A good idea that makes for an effective answer!

When there is a lack of communication or collaboration in the team, I feel dissatisfied, and I would immediately speak to my manager openly and honestly. I want to fix the issues without any second thought, which will help me to build more trust within the organization.

I do best in an environment with regular feedback. I know that there is always room for improvement so I highly value opportunities constructively brought to my attention from supervisors. I can feel dissatisfied when I only receive that feedback once or twice a year. I’d much rather address any areas for improvement monthly or quarterly.
Jaymie's Feedback
